Whether you need to find a nail in a whole log or a needle in a stack of them, we have a metal detector for the job. We manufacture the most technologically advanced metal detectors on the market and achieve continuous accuracy and absolute stability using exclusive four-channel DDS and DSP microprocessor technology.
Our units work with whole logs, cantilevers, belts, vibrating conveyors, OSB production and fluff pulp applications in the solid wood, OSB, and pulp and paper industries.

Increasing productivity
When it comes to improving your yield from a log, there’s nothing better than a Connexus laser product to help you maximize your cuts! Our lasers make it easier to align your logs and boards, allowing you to position them correctly in front of circular saws, band saws, gang saws, swing-blade saws and edgers. You can project one, two or several laser lines to preview your cut with our lasers. Displaying the cutting lines helps you get the maximum value out of all wood types.
Our lasers allow you to reduce errors and maximize every usable piece, no matter the species.
Improving safety and decreasing property damage
In addition to maximizing your production, our laser lines maximize your ability to decrease property and product damage by eliminating product punctures and reducing the need to search for pallet entry on high lifts. They also improve site safety by reducing the chances of pushing products over on the backside of double racking systems.

So how did we come to be the leading provider of Sharp Top Chains® chains for the forest industry?
In the early days, boards had to be processed slowly to maintain accurate sawing. However, as saws and sawing technology improved, the sawmilling process became faster, but as speed increased, accuracy decreased.
As pressure continued to mount and the need to increase the daily board foot production in sawmills grew, there was a clear need to develop a way to increase processing speed while maintaining accuracy and reducing bottlenecks and breakdowns!
Making a breakthrough
At Connexus, our team believed we could meet this challenge through innovation and design. They went to work, studying the process and using their knowledge to deliver the perfect product, and that’s when our Sharp Top Chains® came to life!
Sam Cope of Summit Brand (now a part of Connexus) designed Sharp Top Chains® to hold boards at high speed while maintaining cutting accuracy and with a minimum impact on the boards. These design marvels are now a registered trademark brand of Connexus Industries and continue to lead the way for speed and accuracy in the forest industry.

Never being ones to rest on our laurels, we continued to perfect our craft. Since our original Sharp Top Chains® breakthrough, we’ve developed a variety of designs that maintain a light touch and adjust for various wood species. Today, some of our Sharp Top Chains® run at more than 1400 feet per minute while accurately processing lumber.
